Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Aramis Biotechnologies is developing a plant-based recombinant trivalent Virus-Like Particle (VLP) vaccine for seasonal influenza. This biologic candidate utilizes a proprietary plant-based biomanufacturing platform to produce non-infectious, non-replicating particles that mimic the structure of influenza viruses. By presenting influenza surface antigens in a VLP format, the vaccine aims to enhance the duration of protection and improve immune responses, particularly in elderly populations. The vaccine is designed to be scalable and efficient to produce compared to traditional egg-based methods. As of early 2026, the vaccine was entering Phase 1/2 clinical trials to evaluate safety, tolerability, and immunogenicity in adults aged 18 and older.
