Recombinant type I herpes simplex virus R130 injection (Vero cells) is a third-generation recombinant oncolytic herpes simplex virus type 1 (oHSV-1) developed by Shanghai Yunying Medical Technology. Engineered to selectively replicate in and lyse tumor cells, R130 is armed with multiple immunomodulatory transgenes, including an anti-CD3 single-chain variable fragment (scFv), CD86, and PD-1, alongside the HSV-2 US11 gene to enhance viral replication. This multi-pronged design enables R130 to directly destroy cancer cells while simultaneously recruiting and activating T cells within the tumor microenvironment, reversing T-cell exhaustion and promoting a robust systemic anti-tumor immune response. R130 is currently in Early Phase 1 clinical development in China for the treatment of advanced solid tumors, including bone and soft tissue tumors.
