Overview

Recombinant type III human-derived collagen lyophilized fiber is a bioengineered structural protein product used in medical aesthetics for the correction of facial wrinkles, particularly crow's feet. Produced via recombinant DNA technology (typically in *Pichia pastoris* or *E. coli*), the protein contains amino acid sequences identical to human type III collagen, which is a major structural component of the skin's extracellular matrix. This recombinant approach ensures high biocompatibility and significantly lower immunogenicity compared to traditional animal-derived (bovine or porcine) collagens. The lyophilized fiber formulation is reconstituted for intradermal injection, where it provides immediate structural support and stimulates endogenous fibroblast activity and collagen synthesis to restore skin elasticity and reduce wrinkle depth. It was the first recombinant humanized collagen product to receive Class III medical device approval from the China NMPA for aesthetic indications.
