Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The recombinant virus-like particle seasonal influenza vaccine is a vaccine developed by Novavax. It utilizes Novavax’s proprietary recombinant cell-culture technology and virus-like particle (VLP) platform to target seasonal influenza. The vaccine is designed to elicit an immune response against the influenza virus by presenting virus-like particles that mimic the structure of the virus but are non-infectious. This development was supported by a contract from the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) as part of U.S. government pandemic preparedness initiatives to create faster, scalable, and more flexible vaccine manufacturing capabilities.
