Overview

The recombinant yellow fever vaccine is being developed by iBio, in collaboration with the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz) and Fraunhofer Center for Molecular Biotechnology. This vaccine utilizes iBio's proprietary plant-based gene expression technology, specifically the iBioLaunch™ and iBioModulator platforms, to produce a safer, lower-cost, and scalable alternative to traditional egg-based yellow fever vaccine production. The development aims to address public health needs and potential supply shortages in regions where yellow fever is endemic, such as Latin America, the Caribbean, and Africa. Fiocruz holds commercialization rights for these territories and is funding the development, while iBio retains rights for other territories.
