Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Recombitek is a comprehensive line of veterinary vaccines developed by Boehringer Ingelheim for the prevention of various infectious diseases in dogs. The product line utilizes diverse vaccine technologies, most notably a recombinant canarypox vector platform that expresses specific viral glycoproteins (such as those from canine distemper virus or Borrelia burgdorferi) to induce a targeted immune response without the risk of viral shedding or reversion to virulence. Other formulations within the Recombitek family include modified live viruses, inactivated bacterins, and purified recombinant proteins. These vaccines are indicated for the protection of healthy dogs against pathogens including canine distemper virus, parvovirus, adenovirus types 1 and 2, parainfluenza, coronavirus, *Leptospira* serovars, *Bordetella bronchiseptica*, and Lyme disease.
