Recombitek Oral Bordetella

Recombitek Oral Bordetella is a live-attenuated veterinary vaccine developed by Boehringer Ingelheim for the prevention of canine infectious tracheobronchitis, commonly known as kennel cough. The vaccine contains a lyophilized live avirulent culture of *Bordetella bronchiseptica*, the primary bacterial pathogen associated with the disease. It is administered orally via a pipette into the dog's buccal cavity, providing a needle-free and low-stress alternative to traditional intranasal or injectable vaccines. The vaccine works by stimulating protective levels of both mucosal IgA and systemic IgG antibodies. It is indicated for healthy dogs 8 weeks of age or older and has been shown to provide at least 13 months of immunity following a single dose without the need for a booster.
