Reconcile

Reconcile is a veterinary-specific small molecule pharmaceutical containing fluoxetine hydrochloride, a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI). Developed by Elanco (formerly a division of Eli Lilly), it is FDA-approved for the treatment of canine separation anxiety when used in conjunction with a behavior modification plan. The medication works by targeting the serotonin transporter (SERT) to inhibit the reuptake of serotonin into the presynaptic neuron, thereby increasing the concentration of the neurotransmitter in the synaptic cleft. It is formulated as a beef-flavored chewable tablet to facilitate ease of administration and improve compliance in dogs.
