Overview
**Reconyl** is a standardized Indonesian multi-herbal bioactive fraction developed for relief of acute cough and sore throat. It is derived from *Vitex trifolia* leaf, *Abrus precatorius* leaf, *Zingiber officinale* rhizome, and *Phaleria macrocarpa* pericarp. The molecular mechanism has not been defined; nonclinical evidence reported by its developer indicates suppression of the cough reflex, while the component botanicals have traditional antitussive, bronchodilatory, and anti-inflammatory use. Reconyl has been evaluated in randomized placebo-controlled clinical studies of acute cough, including a completed Phase 3 study sponsored by Dexa Medica.
