Preclinical studies in animal models have demonstrated that oral administration of red pepper ethereal extract can prevent dyslipidemia, reduce atherosclerotic lesion progression, and inhibit left ventricle hypertrophy, suggesting significant cardioprotective and anti-inflammatory effects comparable to simvastatin.
