Red XS Balm

Red XS Balm is a topical cannabinoid formulation containing 375mg of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and less than 20mg of cannabidiol (CBD) per 1.5-ounce jar. Developed in collaboration with the University of Minnesota and manufactured by Vireo Health, it is specifically investigated for the treatment of aromatase inhibitor-associated musculoskeletal syndrome (AIMSS) in breast cancer patients. The balm is applied topically to joints (such as the hands, wrists, and fingers) to alleviate arthralgia and stiffness, which are common side effects of aromatase inhibitor therapy. Its therapeutic effect is believed to be mediated through the activation of local cannabinoid receptors, providing analgesic and anti-inflammatory benefits with minimal systemic exposure. In the CanAroma feasibility study, this THC-dominant formulation demonstrated significant pain relief in the majority of participants.
