Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Reduning is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) botanical injection developed by Jiangsu Kanion Pharmaceutical. It is a standardized mixture of extracts from three medicinal herbs: *Artemisia annua* (sweet wormwood), *Gardenia jasminoides* (cape jasmine), and *Lonicera japonica* (Japanese honeysuckle). Reduning is widely used in China for its antipyretic, anti-inflammatory, and antiviral properties, particularly in the treatment of upper respiratory tract infections, acute bronchitis, and viral febrile illnesses. The formulation works by inhibiting the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-alpha and IL-6, and it has demonstrated broad-spectrum antiviral activity against pathogens like influenza and enteroviruses. Beyond its established use in respiratory infections, Reduning has been investigated in clinical trials for the treatment of Chikungunya fever.
