Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Reduning Granules is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) developed by Jiangsu Kanion Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., formulated as an oral alternative to the established Reduning Injection. It is composed of extracts from three primary medicinal herbs: *Artemisia annua* (Sweet Wormwood), *Lonicera japonica* (Japanese Honeysuckle), and *Gardenia jasminoides* (Cape Jasmine). The drug is primarily indicated for the treatment of upper respiratory tract infections, including influenza, characterized by symptoms such as high fever, cough, and sore throat associated with "heat-toxin" syndromes in TCM theory. Pharmacologically, Reduning Granules exerts antipyretic, anti-inflammatory, and antiviral effects by modulating the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and inhibiting inflammatory mediators. It was approved by China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) as a modern TCM drug.
