Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This reference dentifrice is a standard fluoride-containing toothpaste used as a negative control or baseline comparator in clinical trials conducted by Haleon. Specifically, it is utilized in studies evaluating the efficacy of experimental dentifrices for the removal of extrinsic dental stains. As a regular fluoride toothpaste, it provides standard anti-caries benefits through enamel remineralization but lacks the enhanced abrasive or chemical whitening systems, such as high-cleaning silica or sodium tripolyphosphate, found in the experimental arms. In the context of an 8-week study, it allows researchers to measure the incremental stain removal benefit of new formulations over a standard oral hygiene product.
