Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Refluthin is a CE-marked medical device developed by Hälsa Pharma GmbH for the rapid and long-lasting relief of heartburn and acid-related gastric discomfort. Formulated as chewable tablets, it contains a combination of calcium carbonate (450 mg), magnesium carbonate (50 mg), and a polysaccharide-rich extract from the prickly pear (*Opuntia ficus-indica*, 75 mg). The product utilizes a dual mechanism of action: the mineral carbonates act as antacids to neutralize excess stomach acid, providing rapid symptom relief, while the prickly pear extract forms a physical mucoprotective film over the esophageal and gastric mucosa to prevent further irritation. Refluthin is marketed as a vegan, aluminum-free option suitable for adults and adolescents aged 12 and older, and its performance and safety have been evaluated in post-market clinical follow-up (PMCF) studies in Germany.
