Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Refobacin Revision-3 is a **high-viscosity, radiopaque, antibiotic-loaded bone cement specifically formulated for orthopedic revision surgeries**, particularly for hip and knee arthroplasty revisions in infected or high-risk cases. It contains a combination of **gentamicin** and **clindamycin**, each at 1 gram per 40 grams of cement, offering broad antibacterial coverage targeting more than 90% of bacterial pathogens frequently implicated in prosthetic joint infections. Designed for both one- and two-stage revision procedures, it provides prolonged, localized antibiotic release intended to reduce infection risk and re-infection after joint replacements. Developed by Zimmer Biomet, it is intended for use with Zimmer Biomet implants and can also be used in temporary spacers during two-stage revisions[1][3][6].
