Overview

REGEND006 is an autologous lung stem cell therapy being developed for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and other interstitial lung diseases. The therapeutic approach involves the isolation of p63+ lung progenitor cells from the patient's own airway via bronchoscopic biopsy, followed by ex vivo expansion and subsequent bronchoscopic transplantation back into the damaged areas of the lung. These progenitor cells are intended to differentiate into functional alveolar and airway structures, potentially regenerating damaged lung tissue and improving pulmonary function. The program is part of a regenerative medicine pipeline focused on utilizing tissue-specific stem cells to repair chronic organ damage.
