Overview

ReGeneraTing Agents (RGTA) are a family of chemically engineered, biodegradable polymers designed to mimic the structural and functional properties of heparan sulfates within the extracellular matrix (ECM). Developed by OTR3, these agents act by binding to and protecting heparin-binding growth factors (HBGFs) and matrix proteins from proteolytic degradation, thereby restoring the microenvironment necessary for natural tissue repair. By stabilizing the ECM scaffold, RGTAs facilitate the healing of chronic wounds, corneal ulcers, and surgical scars. They are typically applied topically as solutions or incorporated into dressings.
