Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Regenexx SD is an autologous regenerative medicine procedure developed by Regenexx, LLC, primarily for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis. The 'SD' stands for 'Same Day,' referring to a protocol where bone marrow is aspirated from the patient's posterior iliac crest, processed in an on-site laboratory to create a highly concentrated bone marrow concentrate (BMC) rich in mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), and re-injected into the affected joint under precise imaging guidance (ultrasound or fluoroscopy) during the same clinical visit. The therapy is designed to modulate the synovial microenvironment by reducing pro-inflammatory cytokines and matrix metalloproteinases while supporting the repair of damaged cartilage and other joint structures.
