Overview

REGN-EB3 is a co-formulated cocktail of three fully human monoclonal antibodies—atoltivimab (REGN3470), maftivimab (REGN3479), and odesivimab (REGN3471)—that target the glycoprotein of Zaire ebolavirus. It is administered as a single intravenous infusion for the treatment of infection caused by Zaire ebolavirus in adults and pediatric patients, including neonates born to mothers with confirmed infection. The mechanism involves neutralization of Ebola virus by binding to distinct epitopes on the viral glycoprotein, thereby blocking viral entry into host cells and promoting immune-mediated clearance through antibody-dependent cell cytotoxicity and phagocyte stimulation. Developed by Regeneron Pharmaceuticals in collaboration with the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, it was first approved in October 2020 as Inmazeb for Ebola virus disease based on clinical trial data demonstrating significant reduction in mortality compared to previous therapies[2][3][4][5][7][8][9].
