Overview

REGN3051 is a fully human monoclonal antibody developed to target the spike glycoprotein of the Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV). It is designed to neutralize MERS-CoV by binding to its spike protein, thereby preventing viral entry into host cells. REGN3051 has demonstrated potent antiviral activity in preclinical models, showing greater efficacy than its companion antibody, REGN3048, at reducing viral titers and lung pathology in infected mice. In clinical studies, REGN3051 was evaluated both as monotherapy and in combination with REGN3048; the combination showed enhanced potency compared to either antibody alone. The drug was well tolerated in Phase 1 trials with no dose-limiting toxicities or serious adverse events reported. The primary indication for development is treatment and prophylaxis of MERS-CoV infection[1][2][3][5].
