Overview

REGN7508 + aspirin is a combination of two drugs: **REGN7508**, a monoclonal antibody inhibitor of factor XI (FXI), and **aspirin**, a commonly used oral antiplatelet agent. REGN7508 selectively targets and inhibits coagulation factor XI, blocking the downstream activation of factor IX and thereby preventing thrombus (clot) formation via the intrinsic coagulation cascade without significantly increasing the risk of bleeding[1][2][4][5][6]. Aspirin, by contrast, irreversibly inhibits cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1), reducing thromboxane A2 synthesis and thereby inhibiting platelet aggregation. The combination would thus act through complementary antithrombotic mechanisms, with REGN7508 targeting coagulation proteins and aspirin targeting platelets. REGN7508 is being developed primarily for the prevention of venous thromboembolism, thrombosis, and potentially in atrial fibrillation and other settings in which a reduction in clot formation is desired. No direct clinical data are available for the combination of REGN7508 and aspirin as an investigational product in a single formulation or trial; most information pertains to them as separate entities. REGN7508 is currently under development by Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, with ongoing and completed trials in prevention of venous thromboembolism after orthopedic surgery and other settings[1][2][4][5][6]. Aspirin is a widely available, generic antiplatelet drug developed originally by Bayer.
