Overview

regorafenib + TAS-102-Renovo-cicatrix is a composite identifier representing a combination of the multi-kinase inhibitor regorafenib, the cytotoxic chemotherapy TAS-102 (a combination of trifluridine and tipiracil), and the anti-scarring agent Prevascar (recombinant human interleukin-10). Regorafenib and TAS-102 are both approved for the treatment of refractory metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC), and their combined use has been investigated in Phase 2 and Phase 3 clinical trials to improve survival outcomes in patients who have progressed on standard therapies. Prevascar, developed by the now-defunct biotechnology company Renovo, is an intradermal formulation of interleukin-10 (IL-10) intended to reduce the formation of scars (cicatrix) by modulating the inflammatory response during the early stages of wound healing. While the oncology components are established in clinical practice, Prevascar development was halted following the failure of Renovo's lead scarring program. There is no recognized clinical regimen that combines these three distinct therapeutic agents simultaneously.
