Reidispongiolide A is a marine-derived macrolide classified as a diterpene lactone isolated from the sponge Reidispongia coerulea. It exhibits potent cytotoxic activity against various human cancer cell lines and is of interest for anticancer drug development[2][4][10]. Its primary mechanism of action involves disruption of actin filament dynamics by inhibiting actin polymerization and promoting depolymerization. This leads to destabilization of the cytoskeleton in malignant cells—impairing cell motility and division and inducing apoptosis[4][7].
