ReinZox-S

ReinZox-S is a fixed-dose combination antibiotic developed and marketed by Unifaith Biotech, primarily used in critical care settings for the treatment of severe bacterial infections. It consists of ceftizoxime, a third-generation cephalosporin, and sulbactam, a beta-lactamase inhibitor. Ceftizoxime exerts bactericidal activity by binding to and inhibiting penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), which are essential enzymes for bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to cell lysis. Sulbactam is included to broaden the antibacterial spectrum by irreversibly binding to and inactivating beta-lactamase enzymes produced by resistant bacteria, thereby protecting ceftizoxime from enzymatic degradation. This combination is indicated for serious infections of the lower respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin, bones, and joints, as well as for septicemia and meningitis. It is administered via intravenous or intramuscular injection.
