Overview

REL-P11 is a proprietary, low-dose, modified-release oral formulation of psilocybin developed by Relmada Therapeutics under license from Arbormentis. It is being investigated primarily for the treatment of metabolic diseases, including obesity and metabolic syndrome. Preclinical studies in rodents demonstrated that REL-P11 improved multiple metabolic parameters without detrimental central nervous system effects. The drug leverages the neuroplastogen effects of psilocybin, which may have potential to ameliorate neurodegenerative conditions as well. As of late 2024 and early 2025, REL-P11 has completed Phase 1 clinical trials evaluating safety and pharmacokinetics in obese and normal weight subjects; however, further development is being re-evaluated due to strategic prioritization within Relmada[1][3][4][5][6][7][8].
