Overview
Relieva (psorberine) is a topical natural product extract derived from plants in the *Berberis* family, such as Barberry and Oregon grape (*Berberis aquifolium*). Developed by Apollo Pharmaceuticals and Prime Pharmaceutical Corporation, it is formulated using the proprietary Novasome liposomal delivery system to enhance skin penetration. Relieva exhibits antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties by suppressing the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines, including interleukin-8 (IL-8), tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha), IL-1beta, and IL-2, and also possesses antibacterial activity. It has been investigated in clinical trials for the treatment of plaque psoriasis and atopic dermatitis.
