Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Veklury + abiraterone acetate + prednisolone is an artificial drug combination that does not exist as a standard therapeutic regimen or commercial product. The combination of these three agents—remdesivir (Veklury, an antiviral RNA polymerase inhibitor), abiraterone acetate (an androgen synthesis inhibitor), and prednisolone (a corticosteroid)—primarily appears in public documents due to PDF table parsing errors. Specifically, in NHS formulary documents, the entry for Veklury (SMC2550) has been erroneously merged with the oncology indication for olaparib (Lynparza) or abiraterone acetate in combination with prednisone/prednisolone. In clinical practice, these drugs would only be co-administered if a prostate cancer patient undergoing treatment with abiraterone acetate and prednisolone subsequently contracted COVID-19 and required remdesivir therapy.
