Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Remeson is a brand of methylprednisolone marketed by Learmont Pharmaceuticals, an Indian pharmaceutical distribution company. Methylprednisolone is a synthetic glucocorticoid with potent anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties. It acts as an agonist of the glucocorticoid receptor; upon binding, the receptor-ligand complex translocates to the cell nucleus and modulates the transcription of genes involved in the inflammatory response. This mechanism leads to the inhibition of pro-inflammatory cytokines and the induction of anti-inflammatory proteins. Remeson is available in multiple strengths as part of a commercial generic series and is used to treat a wide range of conditions, including severe allergic reactions, asthma, rheumatoid arthritis, and systemic lupus erythematosus.
