Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Remestemcel-L-rknd is an allogeneic bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stromal cell (MSC) therapy. It contains mesenchymal stromal cells isolated from the bone marrow of unrelated and human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-unmatched healthy adult donors. These cells have the ability to differentiate into different tissue types. The therapy is administered intravenously and is primarily indicated for the treatment of steroid-refractory acute graft versus host disease (SR-aGVHD) in pediatric patients 2 months of age and older. It is the first FDA-approved MSC therapy in the United States, receiving approval in December 2024.
