Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A fixed-dose combination drug containing **remogliflozin etabonate**, a sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor, and **hydrochlorothiazide**, a thiazide diuretic. Remogliflozin etabonate inhibits SGLT2 in the kidneys, reducing blood glucose by increasing urinary glucose excretion, designed primarily for type 2 diabetes mellitus. Hydrochlorothiazide reduces blood pressure and edema by increasing sodium and water excretion in the kidneys. The combination targets both glycemic control and hypertension or fluid retention where both drugs are indicated. Remogliflozin etabonate is generally well tolerated and approved for type 2 diabetes in some markets; hydrochlorothiazide is widely used for hypertension and edema.
