Remune

**Remune** is an investigational therapeutic HIV vaccine consisting of gp120-depleted, inactivated whole human immunodeficiency virus type 1 antigen formulated in incomplete Freund's adjuvant. It was designed for use in people already infected with HIV-1, with the intended mechanism of boosting HIV-specific cellular and humoral immune responses, including responses to conserved viral antigens such as p24, rather than preventing initial infection. Historical clinical studies evaluated Remune alone and alongside antiretroviral therapy; later registry entries describe Phase 2 pediatric and Phase 3 adult HIV studies, although those records have an unknown status and were last updated in 2016.
