ReN005 is a conditionally immortalized human neural stem cell (hNSC) therapy developed by ReNeuron for the treatment of Huntington's disease. The therapy utilizes a clonal cell line derived using the company's proprietary c-mycER technology, which allows for controlled expansion of the cells in vitro before they are transplanted. ReN005 was designed to be surgically implanted into the striatum, where the cells were intended to differentiate into functional neurons to replace those lost due to the neurodegenerative process of Huntington's disease. Although the program demonstrated positive results in pre-clinical models and reached GMP manufacturing standards, it was ultimately discontinued as the company focused its resources on other clinical-stage programs.
