Renaparin is a heparin-conjugate macromolecular drug developed by Corline Biomedical for the prevention of delayed graft function and ischemia-reperfusion injury in solid organ transplantation, primarily kidney transplantation. It is administered by flushing the vessel system of the kidney ex vivo prior to transplantation to repair damaged blood vessels and protect against innate immune response-mediated injury. The drug acts as an endothelial cell modulator and has shown efficacy in reducing reperfusion injury in preclinical models. Renaparin has received orphan drug designation in the EU for transplant rejection and is currently in Phase I clinical trials for renal transplant rejection[1][2][4].
