Overview

Rengalin is a release-active combination antitussive drug composed of highly diluted antibodies to bradykinin, histamine, and morphine. It is designed to treat both productive and non-productive cough associated with influenza, acute respiratory infections (including pharyngitis, laryngotracheitis), chronic bronchitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and other infectious-inflammatory or allergic diseases of the upper and lower respiratory tract. The mechanism of action involves modulation of endogenous target molecules—bradykinin, histamine (H1, H2, H3 receptors), and endogenous opioids—by modifying their interaction with respective receptors. This results in suppression or regulation of the cough reflex at both central and peripheral levels as well as anti-inflammatory effects such as reduced vascular permeability and bronchial spasm. Rengalin has demonstrated efficacy in reducing cough severity from the first day of administration without significant adverse events[1][2][3][4][5][6].
