ReNovaCell is a regenerative medicine technology developed by Avita Medical that facilitates the creation of an autologous skin cell suspension for the treatment of wounds and skin defects. The system works by processing a small, thin sample of the patient's own healthy skin to produce a "Spray-On Skin" suspension containing keratinocytes, fibroblasts, and melanocytes. This suspension is then applied topically to a prepared wound bed or skin defect, where the cells proliferate and differentiate to regenerate a functional epithelial layer. ReNovaCell is specifically utilized for dermatological and aesthetic applications, including the repigmentation of stable vitiligo, the treatment of hypopigmented burn scars, and the improvement of acne scarring. By using the patient's own cells, the technology supports natural tissue regeneration and restores skin pigmentation while minimizing the risk of immune rejection.
