Drug intelligence / Profile preview
RENOVITE BMP-2 is an injectable regenerative medicine product developed by Renovos Biologics. It consists of a proprietary synthetic nanoclay gel carrier (the RENOVITE platform) that binds and delivers Bone Morphogenetic Protein-2 (BMP-2). The nanoclay's high affinity for the growth factor prevents leaching into surrounding tissues, thereby reducing the risk of off-target bone formation and other safety concerns associated with conventional BMP-2 delivery methods. The product is designed to provide localized, sustained release of the growth factor to promote precise bone formation at the target site. Classified as a medical device/biologic combination product, it received FDA Breakthrough Device Designation in January 2024. While its lead indication is interbody spinal fusion, the platform technology has potential applications in cartilage, dental, and skin regeneration.
