Overview
Renshen Guben is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulation used primarily to replenish qi and yin and secure kidney essence. It is commonly indicated for conditions such as yin deficiency and qi weakness, consumptive fatigue, cough, and symptoms associated with kidney deficiency. The formula contains Panax ginseng (Renshen) as a key ingredient along with other herbs. Mechanistically, it exhibits antioxidant properties, immune regulation effects, anti-aging activity in animal models of thyrotoxicosis by improving hypoproteinemia through upregulation of albumin expression in the liver. It has also been studied for its potential protective effects against renal fibrosis[1][2][3][4][7].
