Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Renshen Yangrong Tang (RSYRT) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formulation composed of 12 herbs, with Ginseng (or Codonopsis pilosula) and Astragalus membranaceus (Huangqi) as the primary active components. Developed for clinical use by the Peking University Cancer Hospital & Institute, it is specifically indicated for the management of cancer-related fatigue in survivors who have completed primary treatment. The formula, which dates back to the 11th-century text 'Taiping Huimin Heji Ju Fang', is designed to correct 'Qi deficiency' and replenish blood. It is typically administered orally as herbal extract granules or a decoction. Clinical studies, including Phase II randomized trials, have demonstrated its potential to significantly alleviate moderate to severe fatigue without serious toxicity.
