Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ReNu MultiPlus is a multi-purpose contact lens disinfecting solution (MPDS) manufactured by Bausch + Lomb. It is a medical device used for the cleaning, rinsing, disinfecting, and storage of soft contact lenses, including silicone hydrogel lenses. The solution contains three primary active components: Hydrante (etidronate tetrasodium), which removes protein deposits; Dymed (polyaminopropyl biguanide), a biguanide antimicrobial agent that kills microorganisms on the lens surface; and Poloxamine, a surfactant that enhances wettability and removes lipids and environmental debris. In clinical research, it has been used as a standard-of-care comparator for evaluating lens comfort and deposit reduction in patients with ametropia.
