Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Renzhu Jianwei granules (also known as Renzhu Jianwei Granula or RJG) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) compound originally developed as an in-hospital preparation by the Jiangsu Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine) based on the clinical experience of the renowned TCM physician Shan Zhaowei. The formulation consists of eight herbal ingredients: *Astragali radix* (Huangqi), *Atractylodis macrocephalae rhizoma* (Baizhu), *Coicis semen* (Yiyiren), *Scutellariae radix* (Huangqin), *Agrimoniae herba* (Xianhecao), *Curcumae rhizoma* (Ezhu), *Lobeliae chinensis herba* (Banbianlian), and *Scleromitrion diffusum herba* (Banzhilian). It is designed to nourish the spleen and stomach, replenish qi, invigorate blood, and clear heat. Renzhu Jianwei granules are primarily developed for the treatment of chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG) and gastric precancerous lesions (such as severe intestinal metaplasia or dysplasia). Nanjing Zhongshan Pharmaceutical has developed the compound as a Class 1.1 TCM new drug and submitted a marketing application (NDA) in China in late 2024.
