Drug intelligence / Profile preview
REPHA-OS Mundspray is a plant-based oral and throat spray developed and marketed by the German family-owned company Repha GmbH. It is formulated as a combination of seven medicinal plant extracts and essential oils, including myrrh, tormentill root (bloodroot), ratanhia root, peppermint oil, eucalyptus oil, clove oil, and anise oil, supplemented with menthol. The product exerts antimicrobial and antibacterial effects, making it suitable for the supportive treatment of inflammatory conditions in the mouth and throat, such as gingivitis, stomatitis, and halitosis (bad breath). It is also used preventatively during the cold season to support oral hygiene. The formulation is sugar-free (sweetened with stevia), vegan, and free from chlorhexidine, which avoids the common side effect of tooth discoloration. It is approved and marketed in Germany as an over-the-counter product available in pharmacies.
