Overview
RePlas is a lyophilized (freeze-dried) human plasma product developed for the rapid treatment of coagulopathy and life-threatening bleeding in pre-hospital, remote, and battlefield settings. Unlike standard fresh frozen plasma (FFP), which requires a time-consuming thawing process and strict cold-chain logistics, RePlas can be stored at room temperature and reconstituted in approximately six minutes. It contains the full complement of coagulation factors and plasma proteins necessary to restore hemostasis. The product was originally developed by HemCon Medical Technologies and subsequently advanced by Teleflex through a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with the U.S. Army Medical Materiel Development Activity (USAMMDA). It has been evaluated for the reversal of warfarin-induced anticoagulation, trauma-induced coagulopathy, and acquired coagulopathy due to liver disease.
