Drug intelligence / Profile preview
REPYR-SC1 is a novel, bioactive hemp-derived extract being investigated for its anti-neoplastic and immunomodulatory properties. Developed by researchers at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, it has demonstrated dose-dependent anti-proliferative activity against prostate cancer cell lines (C4) while showing minimal toxicity toward non-cancerous prostate epithelial cells (HPrEC). The extract also exhibits immunomodulatory effects, as evidenced by its impact on cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLL-2) in vitro. Its mechanism is attributed to cannabinoid derivatives within the hemp extract that target cancer cell proliferation and immune signaling. It is currently in preclinical development for the treatment of prostate cancer.
