ReS39 is a preclinical **small molecule** therapeutic originally developed by reMYND and later licensed to Novo Nordisk for diabetes. It is designed to prevent formation of cytotoxic aggregates of **islet amyloid polypeptide**, thereby protecting pancreatic beta cells from amyloid-driven cell death and preserving or restoring endogenous insulin production capacity. In preclinical studies, the compound reportedly improved beta-cell function and insulin signaling in models of both type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes. reMYND retained rights outside diabetes for indications including nonalcoholic steatohepatitis and Parkinson's disease, where the program has been described as having potential through reduction of liver steatosis and possible modulation of protein-aggregation driven neurodegeneration.
