Drug intelligence / Profile preview
resB (also known as resB Lung Support) is a probiotic dietary supplement developed by ResBiotic to support respiratory health via the gut-lung axis. The product contains a proprietary blend of three probiotic *Lactobacillus* strains (specifically *L. plantarum*, *L. acidophilus*, and *L. rhamnosus*) and three herbal extracts: turmeric (*Curcuma longa*), holy basil (*Ocimum sanctum*), and vasaka (*Adhatoda vasica*). It is designed to modulate the gut microbiome, thereby reducing systemic and pulmonary inflammation. Clinical research, including a pilot study in asthma and a randomized controlled trial in COPD, has demonstrated that resB is well-tolerated and can significantly improve respiratory symptoms (as measured by the SGRQ) and reduce inflammatory biomarkers such as matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP-9), C-reactive protein (CRP), and interleukin 6 (IL-6).
