RescuDerm

RescuDerm is a topical gel developed by NociPharm, in collaboration with researchers from SickKids Hospital, for the treatment of skin trauma and wounds, including friction burns, abrasions, sunburns, chemical burns, and flame burns. The formulation consists of two weak organic acids that function as a small molecule therapy to promote skin rejuvenation and provide rapid pain relief. Its mechanism of action involves the generation of a cascade of positively charged hydrogen atoms that interact with the TRPV1 receptor (a nociceptor involved in pain signaling) to inhibit pain transmission and reduce inflammation. RescuDerm also exhibits antimicrobial properties and has been evaluated in clinical settings involving professional chefs and chemotherapy patients.
