Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Rescue G is a stable, ready-to-use (RTU) liquid formulation of glucagon developed by Latitude Pharmaceuticals for the emergency treatment of diabetic hypoglycemic shock (severe hypoglycemia). Developed via the 505(b)(2) regulatory pathway, Rescue G is designed to overcome the limitations of traditional emergency glucagon kits, which require a complex multi-step reconstitution of lyophilized powder before administration. By providing glucagon in a room-temperature stable aqueous solution, Rescue G allows for rapid and simple injection by caregivers or patients during a hypoglycemic crisis. As a glucagon receptor agonist, the active ingredient stimulates hepatic glycogenolysis and gluconeogenesis, effectively raising blood glucose levels to reverse severe hypoglycemia.
