Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HRX0701 is a fixed-dose combination (FDC) oral tablet containing resigliptin phosphate and metformin hydrochloride, developed by Shandong Shengdi Pharmaceutical, a subsidiary of Jiangsu Hengrui Pharmaceuticals. Resigliptin is a selective dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor that enhances the levels of active incretin hormones, such as glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP), thereby stimulating insulin secretion and suppressing glucagon release in a glucose-dependent manner. Metformin is a biguanide antihyperglycemic agent that reduces hepatic glucose production, decreases intestinal absorption of glucose, and improves insulin sensitivity by increasing peripheral glucose uptake and utilization. HRX0701 is designed for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus, offering a convenient single-tablet regimen that leverages two complementary mechanisms to improve glycemic control.
