Overview
Resolaris (ATYR1940) is an investigational biologic protein therapeutic developed by aTyr Pharma for the treatment of facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD) and other rare myopathies with an immune component. It is a recombinant version of a naturally occurring human protein, histidyl-tRNA synthetase (HARS), which belongs to a class of proteins called physiocrines. Resolaris is designed to act as an immunomodulator, selectively modulating the activity of T-cells in skeletal muscle tissue to potentially reduce inflammation and improve muscle health. The drug has received FDA Fast Track and Orphan Drug designations for FSHD and limb-girdle muscular dystrophy 2B (LGMD2B). Clinical evaluation has included multiple Phase 1b/2 trials in adult and early-onset FSHD patients, as well as LGMD2B patients.
